Bad Cards is the best golf gift on the market

Bad Cards Fore Good Golfers Rethrone Challenge

Bad Cards Fore Good Golfers - "Re-Throne" Format // the ULTIMATE equalizer!

In beautiful Southern California, the Bad Cards Fore Good Golfers founders created a unique challenge that would test their abilities and creatively level the playing field. This challenge involved a deck of the Bad Cards Main Game, a mix of good and bad luck, and a whole lot of fun.

Our golfers consisted of Scott, a golfer with a handicap in the teens, and Tommy and Michael, both boasting single-digit handicaps. The challenge they devised was called "Rethrone," a fusion of their previous golf variations, "dethrone" and "redemption." The primary rule of Rethrone was simple: every hole had a twist. The player in last place would draw a good card, while the leader drew a bad card. The middle player, if any, didn't draw any cards. In case of a tie, tee box priority determined the leader. The goal was to see if these cards could level the playing field among players of different skill levels.

Hole 1: No card draws yet, but they established the tee box order. Funny how the scores reflected their skill levels. Goes to show how Bad Cards Fore Good Golfers can spice up a round!

Hole 2: Scott drew a good card, allowing him to hit his second shot twice and choose the best one. Tommy drew a bad card, forcing him to predict his club selection before each shot. Michael watched from the middle. Not a great hole from Scott, only if there was card that could putt for him.

Scott- +5

Tommy- +1

Hole 3: Scott draws another good card, a Mulligan for each shot. Tommy drew “Choke on the Shaft” forcing him to grip his irons below the grip. That doesn’t seem like the most optimal way to hit a golf ball.

Score Card

Scott- +6

Michael- +2

Tommy- +3

Hole 4: Scott's good card draw didn’t provide too much help with the Liar’s Lie card. Michael finally got his chance to draw and he got the exciting chance to putt with his hybrid. Which led to an unbelievable moment.

Score Card

Scott- +6

Michael- +3

Tommy- +3

Hole 5: Scott looks to even the score after pulling the “Movin’ On Up” card and got to tee off from the ladies tees. Tommy’s bad card wasn’t too bad, but it affected his score.

Score Card

Scott- +6

Michael- +4

Tommy- +5

Hole 6: Scott has gotten himself back into the game and is looking to make a push. He drew “Get Handsey” which is great if you struggle from the bunker. Michael went back to old reliable… putting with his driver.

Scott- +6

Michael- +4

Tommy- +5

Hole 7: Scott is still pulling from the “Hell Yeah” deck as he sits in last place. He draws “2 Putts, 1 Cup” which allows him to take a mulligan on every putt. First place Michael has to play this hole with 3 clubs.

Score Card

Scott- +8

Michael- +6

Hole 8: Scott ended up not needing to Tee Bag anything on this hole. Tommy is back in first place and he continues to show his diverse skillset as he uses his putter like a pool stick.

Score Card

Scott- +8

Michael- +8

Tommy- +6

Hole 9: The tides start to turn as the guys finish up the front 9. Scott gets a “par-ski” to be just under bogey golf, Michael almost dunks a long chip shot to finish tied with Scott, and Tommy struggles with the hammer-style putt to finish the front-9 in last place.

Score Card

Scott- +8

Michael- +8

Tommy- +9

Hole 10: Tommy finally gets to draw a good card and he probably gets the best one. What a lucky guy.  Scott has to draw his first bad card and can only use his 5-iron. Not a great card to have for a long par 5.

Score Card

Scott- +9

Michael- +10

Tommy- +9

Hole 11: Michael gets his chance at a good card draw and he makes the most of it. “Where My Beaches At” on a hole with a fairway bunker. Hole-in-one incoming. Tommy didn’t stay in last long but doesn’t get too bad of a bad card.

Score Card

Scott- +9

Michael- +9

Tommy- +9

Hole 12: It’s betting time for Scott and no we aren’t playing the Gambling Golfers card game. Michael draws the 7-iron only card and he sure did like to tell us that he is hitting a 7-iron. In case you didn’t know…he is hitting a 7-iron.

Score Card

Scott- +9

Michael- +9

Tommy- +9

Hole 13: Same drawing order here. Scott gets to move his tee shot up to the 100-yard. Marker, while Michael has to play his own round of personal worst ball. Michael took this a little too literally because he was just spraying every shot into the water. Also, Scott flexing his birdie on a 100-yard par 4 is a pretty funny moment.

Score Card

Scott- +8

Michael- +13

Tommy- +9

Hole 14: Michael is back in last place and doesn’t get too much help from his card. Scott First Place Taube draws a bad card that forces him to putt left-handed. Which he was surprisingly pretty good at.

Score Card

Scott- +8

Michael- +13

Tommy- +11

Hole 15: Michael is falling behind a bit, but got some help from the “Bumpers Up” card that would help keep him in the game. Scott gets a very bad card called “Double Up” which forces you to have to make the putt twice. Not an easy task for the average golfer.

Score Card

Scott- +11

Michael- +13

Tommy- +11

Hole 16: All is right in the world as Tommy is back in 1st. He draws a bad card that gives him the somewhat difficult task of having to bowl his putts. Michael on the other hand can basically just walk his putt in.

Score Card

Scott- +12

Michael- +13

Tommy- +13

Hole 17: Tommy is back in last. That changed quickly. He now draws a card that allows him to match the best score of that hole. It worked out for him as Michael got a par. Scott drew the “Straddle it” card that forces you to putt the ball between your legs without looking. He seemed to have mastered this technique and then gave the camera a show. We are all tied heading to 18!!

Score Card

Scott- +13

Michael- +13

Tommy- +13

Hole 18: Grand Finale! Scott has the honor of drawing a “Hell Yeah” card while Michael draws from the “Sucks 4 U” deck. Neither card is a huge advantage or disadvantage. Michael’s poor tee shot leads to him playing the wrong fairway, but an unbelievable flop shot leads to a great ending.

Final Score

Scott- +14

Michael- +13

Tommy- +14

In the end, Michael emerged as the winner by just one stroke. Despite their differing skill levels, the card game added an extra layer of excitement and competition to their round of golf. The "Rethrone" challenge not only leveled the playing field but also made for an unforgettable day of golf in sunny Southern California. It goes to show that when you think outside the box, golf can become an even more thrilling and unpredictable game. If you want your rounds to be more competitive and fun, try out Bad Cards Fore Good Golfers. It is the best golf card game on the market and makes the perfect gift for the golfer in your life.
